The Message Place they are great. Message Envy is a joke you don't get your full time. been there three times and never get full hour they say the questions and answers are part of the time rip off.

Cutting Edge. I've used most of their services and have always been very happy. All of the women there are well trained and provide a wonderful experience. It is well worth spending a little more to feel so good when they are done! Much better than the cut rate places.

Are you looking for massage or just facials, etc.?

I have a couple of friends and our birthdays all fall within one week of each other and we have gone for our "day of beauty" at Qui Si Bella and been quite happy.

Gift certificate-$75-100 should give them several options, allowing them to customize their spa experience. Someone gave me a GC for the spa in Loretta Plaza (sorry, can't remember the name). I can't speak to their services yet as I haven't used the GC.

Zen Spa. I can't remember the owners name but they worked with me putting Spa Gifts together for me for the Holidays and most importantly didn't try to sell me anything unnecessary. Totally stayed within my budget. P.S. their facials are to die for!!!

Groupon has several spa deals in Santa Barbara.

Living Social also has some good package deals. I totally agree with 750. Massage Envy is a total ripoff! I lost about $500 worth of "banked" massages with them (long story).

OP here. Thanks for all your suggestions! Specifically looking for something that includes a massage and facial, or massage and body wrap, or massage/facial and nail services. Thanks again!

Qui Si Bella is affordable and has everything you're looking for. I've been to them 3 or 4 times and have always enjoyed it.

763p, here. Qi Si Bella's the one I couldn't remember the name of. They have a "menu" on line, I'm pretty sure...

I have heard the Massage Envy "time rip off" story from numerous people. Personally, I've had a few great massages there & only did the survey the first time.

I'd like for somebody from either Massage Envy location in S.B. to comment here regarding the allegations.

Anybody else with a history with them?

My favorite local spas are Cielo (very small and intimate), and Evolutions (big and more "fancy"). Both offer everything you are looking for.

I've been using Massage Envy regularly for the last 4 years. I haven't had any problem getting my full time, and I do check the clock in and out. In fact, a few times I was late and they adjusted the time for me, which they didn't have to do. It took a few times, but I found the "perfect" therapist who does my massage exactly the way I like, and that's worth it to me. I only went through the history once with each new therapist, which does take a few minutes, but I've noticed that each new therapist has actually taken the time to read my chart before coming in to meet me, so the questions were definitely relevant. I think it's very professional for them to go over the history--after all, your health their license are on the line if they inadvertently hurt you. I have some complaints about their incessant sales pitches (which I ignore) and the perks that used to be free that they now charge for (like hot towels), but overall my experiences have been very good and very helpful. I've used both the SB and the Goleta places.

You can contact me if you'd like by going on

I offer massage and my neighbor (who has her own business but whose office is directly next to mine) offers facials. Cheers!

I love the Biltmore, doesn't just feel like a spa day but a Vacation by the sea!
