Body Found On De La Vina
updated: Jul 05, 2014, 7:50 PM

By Edhat Subscriber

Does anyone know anything about the body that was found on De La Vina half a block down from Trader Joes this morning?

I drove by at about 10:30am and saw 3 cop cars and 4 cops standing around a partially covered body. There were no coroners van or fire dept. around, curious as to what happened.

WE live in that building. visiting friends on a morning walk saw paramedics performing CPR on the man when exiting our building. Then when they returned, evidently he had passed. Seems like heart attack or something similar, but can't find any news items about it yet.

There usually isn't news about someone passing away unless there was foul play involved and in SB, oftentimes not even then.

Sad, as was the body that wasn't found for weeks, but not as bad... RIP.

There usually isn't any news about medical issues because there are many and the family want privacy. Sometimes Noozhawk will do a story about them they can go back and get the information from the responders I have to catch it on the fly as I hear it..There are many check the welfare calls of people passed out on the ground most are assumed to be drunk. I remember hearing one it seemed around that time on DLV and was shocked there was already a code 40 passed out I cannot remember the exact location and just noted on my reports "A lot of Code 40 passed out calls." I do remember thinking I should have posted the one on DLV now I know it was a medical not a drunk call but I think it went out as a Check the Welfare code 40 Drunk call..

I happened upon this scene too, looked like next of kin were identifying deceased then somebody showed up with a black bag (coroner I assume).
