Santa Barbara, California, June 27, 2014 - The all-volunteer Spirit of '76 Foundation will once again
present its 4th of July Parade and celebration in Santa Barbara. 2014 is the 52nd annual staging of the
popular patriotic event.
The grand march begins at 1:00 p.m. on Friday July 4th at Micheltorena Street and proceeds down State
Street to Old Town Santa Barbara, concluding at Coda Street.
After the parade, many of the parade participants will display historic vehicles, floats, and live music.
The post-parade celebration takes place on the two blocks immediately south of Cota on State Street.
The theme of this year's parade is Made in the USA - The Bill of Rights. The theme gives participants in
the parade some structure to help them prepare their presentation. It was chosen based on input from
volunteers, supporters, friends, and past participants.
"America's Bill of Rights amends the Unites States Constitution to guarantee a number of personal
freedoms," says Paul Lamberton, president of Santa Barbara's Spirit of '76 Foundation. "We are proud to
honor it as our theme for this year, and we look forward to celebrating with our community on July 4th."
The parade and celebration are free. All are invited to attend. For more information about the parade
and The Spirit of '76 Foundation, please visit www.spiritof76sb.org.
