Is there a website that's streaming today's Solstice Parade? There was online streaming in the past, but I can't seem to find it this year.

So there were a lot of hard working people doing the parade today....but what happened to the parade? It seemed like there were a lot less dancers and the Brazilian group didn't seem happy when I saw them....many in the parade were frowning...and the timing was way off. Hope they fix it for next year.

Yes, the slowest parade ever! Gaps were often a block long.

It was much better years ago before all the super loud amplified music.

The police in the front of the parade lead at a pace that the larger floats behind cannot possibly sustain - especially the large dance troupes which stop at every intersection and entertain the crowds there. There appeared to have been be little or no communication/coordination between the elements of the parade.

I witnessed one incident which was disturbing - the street sweeping crew hard on the heels of the parade got a tad aggressive - one elderly lady who was still sitting in a reserved seating area had to jump quickly out of the way of the revolving brushes of the sweeping truck, and came near to knocking her off her feet - someone nearby saved her from a nasty fall.

I agree with the comments that it wasn't up to other years' parades. It started off great but it was very slow also --- and the amplified sound, including music is a real turnoff. It also would be better if spectators would stay on the sidewalk rather than out into the street. I appreciate the lack of controls and all that, but it blocks the view for the rest of us.

Saw Grant House cavorting with the city council people, esp. Bendy --- as though he still was one; anyone want to bet that he's going to do as Gregg Hart, run again, acting as though he's owed a seat?

Too many looooooooooong waits and biiiiiiiiiiiig gaps. I got so tired of waiting, I left before the parade was over. I've never done that in over 20 years of watching the Summer Solstice Parade. There were fewer floats, too.

Solstice organizers might want to sit down with the Fiesta Parade organizers & managers who always run a well paced, friendly event that is fun for performers, participants and spectators...
On another note remember that from the very beginnings w Michael Gonzalez, Solstice celebration is a reflection of the organizers true intentions. It is a participatory event - it needs more participants and less spectators - next year hot glue some sequins and leaves to a hat, wave a flag and step into the line......

Saw my first one in '86, stopped going about five years ago. Except for the first year I have watched from the Arlington up the route to the park. That's where the gaps are really noticeable. Even ten years ago the gaps were annoying but I just that's because the dancers want to dance, rather than be part of a parade.

Parade is the key word.

ps. The thing I love about not going is how wonderfully quiet my neighborhood was for two hours.
