Is anyone else having problems getting through to Verizon cells in Santa Barbara or Carpinteria?

Just talked with my daughter in Carp, no problem. I'm in SB and have used my cell a lot in the last 1/2 hour.

I am a commuter from Carp to Santa Barbara. I have Verizon wireless and ALWAYS have a dropped call once I drive through Summerland and Montecito.

No problem here in West Beach ... other than the constant problem Verizon has with their compression that cuts off the beginning words of every sentence.

Yes! It has been going on for a couple of weeks. I need to make several calls a week to cell phones and most often i get the message: "all circuits are busy". Never had it happen before.

I have Verizon and several times a week in different parts of town up end up with missed calls - voicemails and never heard a ring.

766P here - My bad - I read this too quickly & didn't see the south county areas.

Anyway, Verizon is almost always 100% here in the SY Valley where AT&T "bites." :-)

You are obviously a loyal AT&T customer who has never tried Verizon. AT&T is horrible in SB... I should know, I used to be with them.

Thanks to those who stuck to answering the question. It was pointed to "cell" phone service around "Carpinteria." I have several friends (not my service, I have AT&T) with Verizon cells who live around the Montecito/Carpinteria area. When I've called the last few days I've gotten "all circuits are busy" message. Those with the phones have also had problems with placing calls.

I have AT&T through work and it's fine. A few years ago this was not the case. My wife and kids have Verizon and it's fine too. No problems with calls in the area today or this evening.

Maybe it is your phone. Simply turn it off and turn back on 30 seconds later, this may help.

They've been trying to get more antennas in Montecito, but the NIMBYs have been fighting them every step of the way. Maybe this is payback.

I've been having the same problem, but it started at least 10 days ago.

Let’s shorten this comment thread a little shall we? And yes, I mean by changing the posting to something more conducive to getting to the bottom of this.

“Is anyone NOT having problems with Verizon?”

Crickets...

Next question.

If it's ok with the boss, 56, I'll leave a comment, to wit, maybe Verizon is in the process of installing the new towers, at least it looks like that may be happening at Hot Springs and Olive Mill near Casa Dorinda.
