Do You Sudoku? - You can now play the Daily Sudoku on Edhat. How fast can you fill in the blanks?

June 15, 2014 - Hoo's There?

This week on Edhat some of the most talked-about stories were about scary animals, such as great white sharks and dangerous spiders. We got our fill of wildlife in the form of photos and videos of snakes, rabbits, ducklings, foxes, and a baby Great Horned Owl (or bubo virginianus to all you edhatters who speak Latin). We rounded out the week with spooky and superstitious photos to celebrate Friday the 13th!

Our Cats of the Week are Jack and Freddie, two playful felines up for adoption. Our Dog of the Week is Maisie Rae, an Olde English Bulldogge who prefers parks over beaches. Our Non-profit of the Week is the Santa Barbara Response Network, an organization dedicated to offering social support to assist in recovery from traumatic incidents. David Powdrell proves that laughter is good for the soul, Beachbummer shares more Santa Barbara restaurant photos from the 1970s, SLTWTR Creative Agency made a video of a typical day cruising through the Funk Zone on a bike, Tom Modugno of Goleta Surfing talks about Goleta's once booming asphalt industry, and local team "McBride Wilson" are making a bid for the 2016 US Olympic Team on the 49er Skiff.

---- Edhat Stuff ----------------------------------

Local team "McBride Wilson" are making a bid for the 2016 US Olympic Team on the 49er Skiff.

HISTORY: Back when Goleta was all farms and pastures, some heavy industry was going on where UCSB is now.

Have you ever wondered what cruising through the Funk Zone looked like from a bike? Watch this video!

HISTORY: Check out more Santa Barbara restaurants from 1976. Can you guess where they were located?

POWDRELL: One thing David Powdrell knows for sure is that laughter is good for the soul. So he went out and bought two life-sized tin goats. [pics]

NON-PROFIT OF THE WEEK: The Santa Barbara Response Network is a grassroots community organization dedicated to offering social support to assist in recovery from traumatic incidents.

DOG OF THE WEEK: Meet Maisie Rae, a Santa Barbara native who doesn't care for the beach!

CAT OF THE WEEK: Meet Jack and Freddie, two playful cats that are up for adoption.
