June 14, 2014 - Remembrance Mural

UCSB Students in the Urban Art workshop worked all quarter to paint a beautiful mural honoring the 2001 victims killed by David Attias. The painting on 6568 Sabado Tarde was near completion when on May 23rd, another tragedy struck Isla Vista. Six students lost their lives and the artists felt something needed to be added. They had already painted a large sea turtle when they decided to add six fish swimming around the turtle in UCSB colors, blue and gold, to honor the recent victims.

In local news, the Santa Barbara Airport will be offering flights to Los Angeles six times during the day for those who can't get enough of LA, a local man was arrested for causing a weird disturbance in Carmel, and the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash have expanded their reservation by 6.9 acres.
