On Saturday we had 11 people on our Sierra Club hike to the Gaviota Caves!
The weather was perfect! Clear with a cool ocean breeze! The caves and other scenery were spectacular!
Saturday was also National Trails Day! Which brought out a generous group of volunteers to work on the trail!
That trail had become quite overgrown in recent years. This group did a good job of clearing a path through the
chaparral. Be aware: There is still some poison oak to watch out for on the connector to the Overlook fire
We also encountered a lot of Turkey Vultures! The best view was on the cliffs above the Highway 101 tunnel
where several were perched!
