Tree Down on 154
updated: Jun 06, 2014, 8:10 AM

By MesaJim

I had the pleasure of coming around a curve on the Pass Thursday evening around 6:20PM or so and finding a rather large oak tree lying in the road, completely blocking my lane. Did anyone else see this thing?!!! It was HUGE--as I swerved to go around it, I had to graze the tip of it to avoid an oncoming car. Tree scratched up my passenger side rather nicely. I'm wondering if anyone might have taken any pictures of the downed tree? I'm thinking my insurance company might want one to justify my claim...thanks.

Oak tree 154 Update:

OK, so I was coming down the hill toward the camera. Blind curve. Lucky nobody got killed. I'm pretty proud of how I handled it, actually. Didn't panic, made a command decision, followed through, safe & sound.
