Art Totem
updated: Jun 04, 2014, 8:56 AM

By Emily

One of my favorite little things about the Funk Zone is the art that is constantly changing on the telephone polls. Seems as if artists from all walks of life are getting in on the fun.

I have seen landscape paintings, funky aboriginal art, satirical posters and cut out fruit encouraging you to (Grow your own food), Even rubber chickens.

I see locals taking pieces off the polls for their collection and visitors taking a memento from this special town we are lucky enough to call home.

I am new to the area so i am just starting to hear of the struggles, defeats and triumphs of the art and artists of the neighborhood.

With this new container yard coming in on Gray ave and approved public murals it looks like art may be part of the neighborhood for the foreseeable future? Only time will tell.
