Scanner Reports 6-4-14
updated: Jun 04, 2014, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Hump Day is here, Wednesday. Listening to the Scanner on Monday I heard a call on Maricopa Drive. It wasn't a lot of information but enough. "Subjects are attempting to have reporting party's husband go with them." It was being reported as a possible Lottery Scam, this was in the 3900 Block of Maricopa. I don't know if the police arrived in time to stop the potential crime. Either way it's important to let ya all know about it. There are scams all over the place nowadays. It seems if the opportunity is there people take advantage of it. Be aware of what might be going on around you and in your HOOD. Believe it or not there is a lot going on; from prowlers, to scammers, to people sleeping aka illegal campers. Heard one DLV at Gutierrez a fella standing near a vehicle smoking the WEED. Ya never know who's watching when people get reported. I live in a neighborhood where there is a lot of activity and noise.

Saturday afternoon I kept hearing these kids get louder and louder they were at the bus stop across the street. There was an older homeless woman sitting nearby and I was kinda concerned I thought they might be hanging around for the opportunity to rip her off; people had just gotten their checks. The elderly and handicapped those who cannot fight back physically, sometimes get robbed for their money sometimes by intimidation, sometimes a beating. It happens to drunks too. These kids were just being loud and obnoxious still I kept an eye on em. I wanted them outta my HOOD by Sundown. At one point I looked over there and noticed the one with the biggest mouth was smoking a cigarette. He looked all of 14 years old. Then I saw what looked like a 24 ounce beer can covered by a brown paper bag he was drinking from. What an idiot I thought, right there at the bus stop in front of Circle K. Traffic and people all over the place I even saw a couple cop cars go by, probably on their way to another call. They were very busy over the weekend. Had they seen what I saw they might have stopped the bus came and took them away. The kid might get caught another day, then again might not, he might make it to 50 and wonder what the hell happened.
