Isla Vista Survivors Speak Out
updated: May 30, 2014, 12:00 PM

By the Dedicated Staff of edhat.com

Survivors from the Isla Vista shooting are speaking out about their recovery and the tragedy that killed six people and injured 13. Of those injured, two survivors have come forward to tell their side of that horrific night.

Bianca de Kock recently gave an interview to ABC News about what she remembers and the sorority sisters she lost that night, Veronika Weiss and Katie Cooper. De Kock describes walking back to the Tri Delta sorority house with Weiss and Cooper last Friday when a black BMW came out of nowhere with the window down. The driver, Elliot Rodger, had a "smirky, grimacy smile," she said. Rodger opened fire and De Kock was hit five times, bullets hitting her arm and chest, some grazing her body. She was released from the hospital Monday and is back home in Alameda, California, with her family. View the full interview below:

Nick Pasichuke is another survivor who is lucky to be alive. He recently gave an interview to Anderson Cooper after being released from the hospital. Pasichuke is a student at the University of Pacific and water polo player who was visiting friends in Isla Vista last weekend. He was skateboarding on Friday evening when Rodgers BMW came up from behind and ran him over. The impact shattered Nick's right leg, broke his left leg, left him with facial fractures and other injuries. The below photo was posted on Twitter by a friend showing Pasichuke recovering in Cottage Hospital.

Pasichuke was released from Cottage and is recovering at home where he gave the below interview to Anderson Cooper.
