Golf Cart Patrol
updated: May 19, 2014, 8:28 PM

By John Palminteri

Many people have seen a change on Milpas St. lately in and around the Casa Esperanza Homeless Shelter. There are fewer problem people who are on the streets intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. Part of the cleanup plan came with a new golf cart patrol. The cart was purchased by business leaders in the Milpas Community Association. The security employee comes from the shelter.

The patrols start at 7 a.m. They go beyond the footprint of the immediate neighborhood and into the alley ways, dumpster areas and parking lots for several blocks up Milpas.

The shelter has a Good Neighbor policy and denies entry to those who are caught violating the rules, on or off the property.
