Nothing locally reported on the USGS website. You may have have felt a very local 'microquake' which did not meet the USGS reporting qualification - which I believe is magnitude 1.0

I believe they call that "afternoon delight"

USGS records ALL quakes, local micros down to .3 if thee is recording equipment in the area (which there is here.) There were no quakes of any magnitude in SB today, as of this moment.

OP: Good chance you were the only one who felt the earth move, but that does not mean that it didn't move or that the USGS "missed one." One time I was the only one who felt an earthquake and when I asked my family about it they thought I was a bit Kuh-Ray-Z, which I was and am not. My uncle used to see ghosts in mirrors all of the time, but he had a drinking problem.

Isn't the earth rocketing through space at 100s of thousands of miles an hour around the sun and spinning at a couple of thousand? It's amazing we don't feel the earth moving ALL the time.

Those ghosts in the mirror are because I have a drinking problem?

If you're near the equator, the Earth is rotating about 1000 MPH, which makes sense since its diameter is 24901 miles and it rotates once every 24 hours.

But if you're standing at the axis of rotation, you just get dizzy... and cold.

My dog freaked out and ran off today while I was out. He does that when the Earth moves or he hears or feels a loud boom. So if that's an indication, which it is, then some kind of Boom or shake occurred. Today my dog broke the barrier I carefully erected to keep him from busting out when I'm gone. He never runs away unless he is scared of a big booming sound or shake. He found found some nice kids that were smoking pot at the Wilcox to hang out with. I knew he'd run to the Wilcox property so I ran that way and was able to track him down eventually! but I was sooo stressed I needed a bong hit but I didn't ask for one I just got my dog and hugged him and took him home. The end.

329.....you mean they didn't offer one?

So glad you got your dog back. Mine ran away a few months ago and just missed getting hit by a car right in front of me. I coulda used one too after that.

I felt it too. It sounded like a loud dragging like something really heavy hit the ground. I paused for a second and wondered what it was. I'm glad you posted this. I was on De la Guerra near SBHS. Maybe it was heavy construction or a sonic boom? Hmmmm......

I'm on Upper Hope ave. I heard a loud bang which sounded like it was on the roof. Passed it off as weird noise. Maybe a sonic boom? We are near vandenberg AFB..

maybe he was scared from the large equipment repaving. large trucks can cause the ground shake blocks away.
