Scanner Reports 5-19-14
updated: May 19, 2014, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Finally Monday. Don't think I ever said that before. FRYday morning I woke up early and turned on the Idiot Box looking for something to watch. I saw a picture of UCSB flipping thru the channels and went back to see what it was about. It was the Discovery ID Crime channel and the show was called "Twisted". This episode was about Thor Christian, a serial killer from Santa Barbara County. Several locals were in the program who grew up with Thor, or knew his victims, a couple local police officers were also on the program. When I first got to Santa Barbara I got into some trouble and went to jail and had words with Thor, although I think it went a little further than words. I cannot remember how much further it went. Belinda went to school with him before he committed the homicides, and she knew him a little more than I did. We both watched the show. It was pretty Twisted to say the least. At one point Thor had left Santa Barbara County after the homicides he committed here and went to Oregon for 22 months. One of the investigators said he had read about some murders in Oregon at the time Thor was there and he wondered if Thor had anything to do with the murders. After Thor returned from Oregon he started going down to LA to kill women there. One of his victims survived and after she recovered she saw Thor sitting in a bar, and she called police. Thor was arrested and taken into custody. I don't know how long he was in LA County for but when I saw him he had two black eyes and a broken nose. Someone told me he got beat up in LA County jail. I wonder why no one went to Oregon to investigate whether or not he committed homicides up there also. He was convicted of the homicides he did commit and was sentenced to life in prison. Six months later he was killed in prison having been stabbed 17 times. Yet there were these other murders in Oregon; I also wonder if those killings were ever solved. I have heard of this before where someone commits multiple murders but only gets convicted of a couple. Why is that? Can anyone answer that question for me?

So a scumbag killer was executed recently and his death did not go so well, he might have suffered on his way out. What about his victim? No one talks about the victims most of whom were tortured or mutilated. When is the punishment going to fit the crime? These people sit on Death Row for years and years some die of old age before their sentence is carried out. We treat prisoners on Death Row better than the Animals in the shelters. Poor little puppy dogs and kittens get executed every day in our animal shelters; no one blinks twice. A state representative suggested that the death sentences be carried out by firing squad and he was criticized for the suggestion. I don't know why he was criticized. A firing squad is less painful than a woodchipper. If I was in charge my woodchipper would be on all the time. I see a headline Death Row Prisoner FEARS a botched execution. Then in little letters at the bottom of the page is his crime Oh yea he raped and mutilated a couple young women. Something's should be taken care of the old way, The Roger Way. What a joke our country has turned into concerning Justice.
