Tankers in Nipomo
updated: May 16, 2014, 1:07 PM

I have seen 2 tankers going by me in Nipomo in the last hour and a half, headed south, and wondering where the fire is? Is this mop-up on the Miguelito?

Miguelito is on spot fire watch so it wouldn't be for that. Agree with 518, there are a TON of fires in SD County.

My guess is San Diego, where there are currently 9 fires brewing. My neighbor is down there as well. It's HUGE.

Only one major fire in SD right now...and it is major.

Remember when everyone in SB and San Diego was whining about having to pay an extra $100/yr for CalFire coverage? Ya...not whining so much anymore!

It's terrible. My son lives in SanDiego and the last fires were bad. At one point they were surrounded. Very scary. Those firefighters earn every penny of there wages and pensions.

Watched the SD CBS live TV feed yesterday and saw SBFD engines doing structure protection at one of the fires. Mutual aid is a wonderful thing.

In SD now, a lot of Fire activity. Saw our Santa Barbara City Firefighters on the local newscast here (channel 8) fighting the San Marcos fire.
The authorities also caught two males, one 18 and one 17 setting fires this AM- Fortunately, they were caught- Unknown if they are tied to the other sets...

but surely the plane could not fly to SD and back twice in two hours. Were they still dropping on Miguelito on Friday? Wondering if there was another new local fire.
