That water main on APS breaks just about every other month. I'd call the city water dept and let them know. Otherwise, someone might be draining their pool.

There is construction on La Vista Grande - there was a ton of water flowing this morning too! Not sure, but I think they are replacing a water main or storm drain....

One savvy individual had a hose laying in the gutter and was transferring the water to buckets and garbage cans. Good on him for being so resourceful!

It was coming out of a hose connected to a fire hydrant. I saw it begin at 9:30 ish and it was still going strong at 1:30! So frustrating to watch!!

For the record it wasn't a water main break. There is construction on La Vista Grande doing a water main project. Today was tie In day. Meaning you have to open old main line and connect the new thus the water you see coming down the street.

I saw it gushing down APS at 135. We are teaching the students to conserve water and then they see this ( again)!

I like driving around the east side and riviera area. So many green lawns. It's refreshing that the drought doesn't apply to all areas.

I was at Casa Dorinda in Montecito yesterday; their (usually) huge beautiful lawn (covers about an acre) was totally brown. So glad they take the drought seriously.

I was headed to Goleta beach on Ward Memorial at 4 pm and the farm on Kellogg was watering in the 94 degree sun. It is doubtful they would grow food with reclaimed water. We should have a water waster hotline!

992, maybe they are tying in, but do they have to waste water from 9:30 AM til 1:30 PM??!!!!

101 Yes because the valves are old and they cant shut down the water completely, so the fire hydrant is opened to relieve pressure so the new joints can be sealed in with mega lugs. It is not a simple job. Everything has to line up and it takes time to drain the water out so they can even get in the hole. So to answer your question YES!
