B24J Consolidated Liberator Bomber: "Witchcraft"
updated: May 12, 2014, 8:40 PM

By John Palminteri

The B24J Consolidated Liberator bomber, "Witchcraft", came in over the Goleta Valley this afternoon as part of a rare visit by WW II planes to the Santa Barbara Airport.

The Wings of Freedom Tour features three aircraft, the B24, along with the Boeing B-17, and the P-51 Mustang.

Among those to take part in the special flights was "Mr. Santa Barbara" Larry Crandell. In World War II he flew 34 missions in a B24, including one where he was shot down, and survived an ocean crash. Now at age 91 he gets another memory at the Santa Barbara Airport. KEYT NewsChannel 3 has a report on tonight's news.
