Black Road Bridge
updated: May 08, 2014, 10:45 AM

Source: Public Works Department

Construction begins May 19, 2014 to replace the bridge on Black Road located 1000' ft. North of State Route 1 at Orcutt Creek. The new bridge is being constructed to meet current design standards for bridge width, bridge railings, and metal beam guard railings.

Construction will be performed by R. Burke Construction Company. Work begins May 19, 2014, and is scheduled to end December 2014 contingent on weather. Working hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Black Road will be closed and traffic will be detoured around the project. Watch for detour signage.

This $2.1 million dollar project will be funded through a Federal Highway Bridge Program grant for $1.69 million. The remaining $410,000 will come from matching State Prop 1B Seismic funding, State Gas Taxes and Santa Barbara County Measure A revenue.
