Sign Controversy
updated: May 06, 2014, 8:48 PM

By John Palminteri

A sign installer was cited for violating the sign he was putting up.

The ticket will cost $48. and the worker said he wasn't even done screwing in the sign. It was a 75 minute parking limit sign in Santa Barbara on Victoria St. near Chapala. He is appealing. How long was he overtime? He says about 15 minutes. He needed the truck for his power tools, and one sign required him to drill into concrete to install the pole. This was part of a construction contract related to a nearby project that included upgraded street improvements such as signs, trees, and painted curbs (with other limits!)
