Scanner Reports 5-2-14
updated: May 02, 2014, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Thank Dog it's FRYday! I get asked about stuff a lot when people see the police out and about, or Fire and Medics on a call. I don't listen 24/7 or have it recorded to check back none of that, I also sleep at night. When I was younger I worked the Graveyard Shift but no more. I'm older now and I hurt. A neighbor asked me what happened here last week at about one in the morning and I had no idea. She was on her porch when a group of about 8 police officers approached her and told her there was a situation here. She asked them what it was and they were unclear on it but told her she needed to go into her house. Eventually they left the neighbor walked around a little, nothing was going on anywhere, and it was very quiet she told me. "Was there a robbery, or a burglary?" she asked me. I told her I was sleeping and had no idea they were even here. Maybe someone shoplifted and ran thru here I told her "No", she answered, "No one ran thru here." Will that's strange I thought and I still think but I'm pretty sure they were chasing someone who perhaps jumped the fence half way thru the property and got away. Who knows?

I remember when I was 22 used to work with this Good Old Boy named Jim Hickman doing gardening. Poor old guy was always in a lot of pain. He was tall and thin his back was always hurting him but his legs were much worse. Old Jim used to smoke Pall Malls and drink Budweiser. He's long dead now probably 20 years or so and I've taken his place with that pain, my legs kill me every day. I used to walk about 15 miles a day; lucky if I can do a couple blocks now. It's horrible no more breaking the law for me unless I fall off the wagon. I'd be dead in a couple months then, all my fun is gone now the Sunset of my life. So don't expect me to go out there wearing a bunch of equipment cameras, I-Phones all that horse manure playing Roger Dodger Action Citizen Reporter rolling down hills, jumping from planes, repelling down ropes, climbing rocks. KEYT can do all that and get their Emmys; I'll stick with my Enema Bag.

There is a very annoying person that says some real hateful things about me on another website once in a while. I let him get to me and I talk smack back but I think wow this guy really has a problem with me he really hates me and besides reading the Scanner Reports as far as I know he doesn't know me although maybe he stalks people he don't like because his hate seems so real. I was never that angry. I mean if someone got me mad I'd tell em off an occasional fight but that was it this fellas about ready to go off the deep end. Used to have an old Preacher friend tell me "Pray for those people Roger, Pray they get everything they got coming to them. I prayed for this one guy. Prayed he'd get everything he had coming to him and he got hit by a damn truck!" He laughed after telling me that. Maybe I should become a Preacher.

Oh Well here's your Scanner Roni Reports, Wednesday:

I have never heard of anyone blowing two stop signs that must be quite a trick! Anyway he got away must have pulled into a garage somewhere last I heard he was about 25 with brown hair driving an old silver Ford Focus.
  • Heard this partial be on the Lookout for some guy from Idaho heading to Santa Maria in a stolen car with a passenger both Armed and Dangerous. I did not get all the information on them because they was broadcasting too fast, and I'm a little slow. I did hear one fella's middle name was "Lee" and thought about how Nick Welsh from the Independent says about people with that middle name. I hope the Sheriff gets these guys they sound scary, one of them had 5 warrants in Santa Barbara alone. There was an Officer Safety on both of them.
