Georgia's Smokehouse is the best in town. Burger Bus is nice people, but the bun (which actually ciabatta bread) completely ruins the burger experience. Guaranteed back slider where the burger comes flying out and that type of bread was just never meant for a burger. A sandwich yes, but a burger never.

The Burger Bus-- my fave. :) They have remembered my name for years, although I don't go very often!! I'm not a big fan of the new sweet potato fries though, the yam fries w/ranch was the best.

Georgia's is ok but sort of greasy. The pulled pork sandwich will melt in the mouth though mmm

@667: Last time I was at an event at the Earl Warren Showgrounds, Georgia's Smokehouse had taken over their concession/burger stand.

I thought their food was pretty good, but they're one of those outfits who always have to add one weird ingredient to each dish to try to make it unique. I personally preferred the previous group.

Another vote for GEORGIA'S SMOKEHOUSE. Good people, excellent pulled pork, excellent coleslaw, and their website shows where to find them. what else can you ask for?

Totally agree with 669 that Burger Bus is delicious, but the buns are too firm and they send the contents out the opposite side you bite from! If they had soft squishy buns, i would eat their burgers weekly. But as they are, i tend to avoid them. Would be such a simple solution, too...

Georgia's seems to have a schedule that is not too great for working people and not convenient if you work in SB though. You should check double u (x3) santabarbara dot com and look up food trucks, there are lots around with good schedules and great reviews! I've heard the Burger Bus is great!

Not so much Burger Bus... totally agree that the buns ruin the burger. And at about $10/burger, not including fries, we ought to actually be able to eat them. The few times I've gotten one, I've ended up throwing most of it away in a huge mess. Maybe they'll read this and change their ways!

Agreed 515678, The last few times I've had Georgia's it has been weirdly greasy yet dry meat at the same time. I routinely smoke meats at my house and never have this issue. Makes me wonder if they slather the buns in butter or something while they are prepping them. Also the meat now tends to be wayyy over salted. I love salt and salty food but the last few sandwiches I've actually had to toss part way through as the seasoning was just so off. I hoped it was just a fluke experience the first time, but went back a couple times since and had the same issue. I really enjoy their product so I hope they get their seasoning/grease issues back in order.

Burger bus! If you are looking for a great burger, sliders or falafel, they are the who you need for sure. We are talking gourmet burger after all. And, fried pickle chips and onion rings. ...I love it all! Now, I do appreciate a cheap bun burger as well -but, that is usually when the Burger Bus isn't around:)

I can't pass up some good pulled pork either... Come to think of it, I really love the SB food truck scene!

Gourmet burger? Does putting peanut butter on meat or deep frying a pickle make it gourmet? Hm.

I just can't with Burger Bus. I've only had one experience with them... I was next in line for a restroom and out came a BB employee looking sweaty and sheepish. What greeted me in the restroom after he left looked like a massacre. A very stinky massacre.

Kind of turned me off to eating what he was preparing. Sorry, but I'm just being honest here.

I agree with 702P. It is not always a good idea to add strange ingredients in order to try to experiment and make something you think is novel and distinct. I still have not forgotten getting a tuna sandwich at a Goleta restaurant some years ago (now, not surprisingly, no longer in business) in which they had put either Tabasco or some other hot sauce in the tuna. I am not real crazy about hot and spicey things anyway but that was the last thing I ever expected to get in a tuna salad sandwich.

Don Pacos - delicious and really nice folks AND Georgia's SmokeHouse another outfit with wonderful food, & folks! And both are FAST! which is what I want in truck service. I like the Burger Bus too but it can be so slow.
