District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that adjudicated sexually violent predator (SVP) Tibor
Karsai will remain under 24-hour supervision for the next 12 months. One year ago the Placer County
Superior Court ordered Karsai released as a transient in Santa Barbara County.
During the past year Karsai has been under 24-hour supervision monitored by Liberty Healthcare, a
contractor for the State of California. On April 30, 2014, a review of Karsai's status was heard by Placer
County Superior Court Judge Angus Saint-Evens. Based on the report of Liberty Healthcare and the joint
efforts of the Placer County District Attorney and the Santa Barbara District Attorney the judge ruled that
Tibor Karsai should remain under 24-hour supervision for an additional year.
The case will be reviewed on an annual basis to determine if the supervision terms should be modified.
District Attorney Joyce Dudley remains steadfast in her commitment to protect the residents of Santa
Barbara County. Joyce Dudley stated, "Protecting the community, victims, and their families, is an ongoing
duty that our office takes very seriously. My office will continue to seek the most stringent terms to ensure
that our community is safe from sexually violent predators."
