Did anyone else see Paula Lopez as an anchor on Channel 11 Fox News Tuesday night? Did she leave KEYT or are they moving around anchors due to new owners?

I saw her in the Fox News 11 promo during a commercial break during "New Girl." Is she not working for Keyt anymore?

No. Yes.

KCOY, KKFX and KEYT are all owned by the same owner now. Meredith Garofalo & Shirin Rajaee are now on KKFX at 7AM as well.

Are they just reading the same exact stories on 3 different channels? I wonder if all are shot in the same studio as well.

Frankly I'm surprised that no one has called out the stupid "power of three" merger on violating federal antitrust laws.

That said, I've always refused to watch KEYT, their "news" is so sophomoric and sensational, so I've stopped watching the news on 11 and 12 as well.

I actually prefer KSBY channel 6 myself. I find the news anchors to be more personal and professional. (John and Jeanette)

It's all propraganda & spin from central command. Better to turn off the tv & get outside, talk with your neighbors, enjoy life.

Speaking of Key News, am I the only one who thinks Victoria Sanchez is, ummm, under qualified?

Why on earth would I watch "news" on a Fox station? That is similar to trying to find news in the "News"-Press.

I find it inappropriate that Victoria Sanchez, daughter of Chief of Police Cam Sanchez, is reporting local news, period. I have seen her reporting on City Council meetings where her father spoke, reporting on the gang injunction, crime statistics, etc. She cannot be objective reporting on stories that oftentimes, from another reporter, would show her father in a very bad light. And there have been a couple instances of this.

173P, since KEYT only parrots back the press releases they are given and never actually digs up any news stories, I don't think it matters who they have as the talking head introducing their "stories". She is as competent as any of the other weekend anchors and reporters that have come and gone during the years.

Do you think if Victoria disappeared, KEYT would start running stories on the corruption and mismanagement in the police dept, if there is any? Small chance of that.

It's a moot point with regard to who READS the teleprompter that are words put together by our "Corporate News Media Inc" Whether it's "National" news or "Local" news, it's the same recycle gibberish over and over again... There are NO LONGER "REPORTERS" that do investigative or issue based news.
We (Americans), hear NOTHING of what is really going on globally. It's better that we are force fed what is dictated to us by our "Media"

I've had contact w/employees regarding typos, misnomers and other mistakes and have simply given up. My understanding is that a company proofreads their stories. I assume the so-called "copy editors" or proofreaders work online and have zero knowledge of SB, let alone allowing spellings such as "camradery" to be published. I don't bother with contact anymore, unless it's to share this sentiment with a manager. I too watch KSBY occasionally.

KEYT is truly an embarrassment to Santa Barbara.

To be honest, I have not watched KEYT in ages, but when I was watching that station, they seem to report more news out of Ventura, Oxnard and down in that area. Barely any news reported for Santa Barbara. But, the North County TV stations would report more news for Santa Barbara, then KEYT did....

I still like John Palminteri. And, I remember the news guy, when he worked for a law firm as their errand person, before he got the job at KEYT!!

I watch the news on PBS, and sometimes international viewpoints on MHZ, channel 132. Watching KEYT is more of a neighborhood chat, with weather report. But they are helpful in emergencies such as fires. My complaint is the lack of variety/independence in all the news. It has become canned, same topics, same stories, same short snippets- if not entire sentences- and the treatment is more of a magazine. The endless commercials, I won't even mention.

The ethics of news organizations has changed to more entertainment ethics over the years. Victoria Sanchez should not be reporting on issues under her father's jurisdiction. Period.
