I smell smoke, like wildfire smoke. 8:50pm Tues. I'm on Olive St. near Sola. Anyone else?

Interesting. I smelled some around Cottage I think between 8-9 p.m., looked around, never smelled steak or lighter fluid. No sirens though, so...

Now that's weird. We also smelled smoke about that same time on the upper Westside. I even went outside to look but there was nothing.

It's probably just your neighbors lighting their bbq.

Yes! Thought I was crazy but I smelled smoke downtown too. Haven't seen anything or heard of any fires. No it wasn't a BBQ.

On the Mesa... smelled smoke too.. woke up sneezing.. thought some one was outside smoking tobbacco... ? There were some controlled burns yesterday.. perhaps residual smoke in the atmosphere... ?

I picked up on a fire smell in the Ralph's parking lot on upper De La Vina at 4:00pm.

Glad to know that whatever it was we were smelling didn't turn out to be a wildfire.

Smelled smoke up off Cathedral Oaks and 154. It was worrisome, but didn't see anything.

I smelled smoke last night in the San Roque Gardens area. Heard some seriously big helicopters, too. Was worried.

Westside also at Mission, we were concerned because it smelled like someone burning poop? It increased in smell and then after 5 minutes went away, but it was pretty awful, we thought of burning flesh, not a BBQ. There was no smell of chemically treated wood or lighter fluid, just an awful smell. Someone on the street said homeless at the railroad tracks again burning something. People near San Andres and Pedregosa often burn construction wood in their bbq's and the chemical/tar smell is awful, wish they would stop. Not saying this was the case last night because it was a different stink. SBFD any clues on what would smell like this?

Odd, I was smelling smoke yesterday afternoon at Costco, but did not see any smoke or any area it could be coming from. Did not smell like BBQ--smelled like burning paper, maybe.

There was a LOT of big helicopter action at sundown and for a while after. They were those military type double rotor ones. Seemed to be focused just over the mountains out of sight but within earshot of Turnpike area.
Saw them heading for SB airport. One of them had a long pole like object sticking out of the front of it. No smoke seen from our nest though.
