April 20, 2014 - Easter Sunday Funday

Happy Easter everyone! Most of us are aware of the religious aspect of this holiday but several edhatters were curious where bunnies and eggs came from, especially since bunnies do not lay eggs. The Dedicated Staff did a little internet investigating and found some interesting history about the commercial holiday of Easter and eggs. According to Wikipedia German Lutherans celebrated the Easter Hare who would evaluate whether children were good or disobedient at the start of the season of Eastertide. The custom was first mentioned around 1682 referring to a German tradition of an Easter Hare bringing Easter Eggs for the children. We had no idea the Easter Bunny was similar to Santa Claus but the Dedicated Staff will take any and all left over candy.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for our annual March Edness Award Ceremony! Ed and the Dedicated Staff will be serving up cookies, sweet treats, and coffee to all the subscribers who visit Santa Barbra Arts on Friday, April 25th from 5:30-7pm. View the invite here.

Our Dog of the Week is Sage, a well-trained pup looking for a home. Our Cat of the Week is Sparrow, a curious kitty who is also in need of a loving home.
