Injured Bicyclist
updated: Apr 16, 2014, 4:20 PM

UPDATE by the Dedicated Staff:
Thanks to the vigilant edhat reporters, the original report of the bike being stolen turned out to not be stolen at all! Edhat subscribers were quick to write in and correct the original report stating that the bicyclist asked someone to drop his bike off at another location. The SBPD reportedly stated the incident was a "big misunderstanding." Great job edhatters!

There was a fire truck and a lot of people surrounding a man on the ground this afternoon near the Arlington Theatre. Apparently he was riding his bike and was struck by a car who moved into the bike lane. I saw the tail end of everything but he appeared to be ok. People around me were telling the Police that some guy ran off with his bike! I'm curious to hear if it will be found.

Update from an edhat subscriber:
Everyone thought this guy was moving [the bike] for safe keeping but he ended up walking off with it. Bicyclist has minor injuries and the driver stayed on scene, she was cited by SBPD. Police are describing the bike as a black road bike with a checkered pattern on the paint job. Anyone with information or a witness with a description of the thief should contact the Police Department.
