Fire Flowers
updated: Apr 12, 2014, 8:47 PM

By John Wiley

We saw these wildflowers while flying at Pine Mountain Lake near Yosemite last week. They're most prominent in areas burned by the Rim Fire, and as we could tell during our walks there the orange ones are poppies.

The yellow area at bottom right is tiny daisy-like yellow flowers in low ground cover we saw in our walks. I can't find any closeup pix of the yellow ones, but since we saw them in several meadows including in Yosemite maybe someone on Edhat knows what kind they are? I've put other pix from this trip on our blog. Shall I send some different ones to Ed?
