Fork Fest in the Funk Zone
updated: Apr 06, 2014, 3:20 PM

By the Dedicated Staff of edhat.com

Night Out hosted their first ever festival of local food and beverages in the Funk Zone cleverly titled "Fork Fest" on Saturday. Hundreds of people filled Mason Street to take part in the fun. Promising to highlight the Santa Barbara culinary culture with "fork fulls" of food, the event hosted some notable restaurants. We sampled bites from: Blue Tavern, Arlington Tavern, Organic Soup Kitchen, State & Fig, Killer B's BBQ and Bar, Silvergreens, Enterprise Fish Co., Casa Blanca Restaurant, McConnell's ice cream, and The Chase Bar & Grill. Beer and wine were also available from Figueroa Mountain, Sort this Out Cellars, Island Brewing Company, Pali, Pure Order Brewing, and Cutler's.

Everyone was having a good time wearing the yellow or black crowns that were provided upon entry. A photo booth was set up to pose with Derek Zoolander and a bright yellow fork. This event also helped to raise funds for the FoodBank of Santa Barbara County and Vow4Mal, which aims to eliminate drinking and driving and promotes smart choices for young people in Santa Barbara.
