What is one food item at a Santa Barbara area restaurant that is a-l-m-o-s-t addictive?

Although the rest of the items on the menu are pretty good, I'd caution people that the almond croissants at Renaud's are almost addictive. Once you've had one you're hooked.

A nice, strong Mean Tai, followed by a prime rib sandwich from Harry's Plaza; fish & chips from the Mesa Cafe and Cody's; Gold Miner's Basic Burger (or whatever they call it) from the Nugget.

The one food item I miss most is the French dip and macaroni salad combo from Angelo's in the 700 block of State Street. Both items are normally fairly pedestrian, but Alice, one of Angelo's noontime food preparers, just got it totally 100% right. I also miss the sandwiches from the Italian-Greek Market at State & Ortega.

People actually believe Cajun Kitchen serves good food? It is low grade slop straight from the Sysco can. Also it is insulting to actual Canjun food and people to use Cajun in their name when they do not serve anything resembling actual legitimate Cajun cuisine.

@REXOFSB oh how I miss the Italian-Greek Market. It was the last bastion of anything old school on State Street. I loved the smell when I walked in, I loved the old deli cases and the no-nonsense, great people that worked there.

I guess at least I am fortunate to have the memories. Some people will never know that the sterile wireless business that has taken over that corner used to be a no-BS place to get a great sandwich and a drink out of the cooler in the back.

Most of my faves belong to the way-back, especially MOUSSE ODILE! Oh well.
I love Enterprise Fish Co. for their appetizer menu and Maine lobster special. Lunch is a great deal.
Any of our local waterfront places when they serve small N. Pacific cold-water oysters (once got 2 pearls in one oyster at Guiseppes -- there's a name for oldsters) or oak-grilled local lobster. Obviously, nothing is screaming "SB" at me. Maybe Via Maestra, certainly Fresco, and unlike many, there are dishes I like at Harry's; just can't afford them anymore.
