Community Growers Present Gourmet Dinner to Celebrate Public Tours

During the last weekend of March each year the farmers host public tours in California greenhouses where 80% of all domestically grown and solid flowers in the US are grown. This year's public tour of the participating growers will be Saturday March 29 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. As a prelude to their public tours in 2014 Santa Barbara flower growers B&G Color Nursery, Maximum Nursery, Myriad Flowers, Ocean Breeze Farms, Westland Florals and Westerlay Orchids presented a Field-to-Vase Dinner.

Star Chef Theo Stephan of Global Gardens Olive Oil & Caliterranean Café presented an elegant Farm-to-table multi-course dinner paired with Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara wines, in MOBI Greenhouse in Carpinteria, where the exquisite Gerber daisies of host Winfred Van Wingerden and family provided a spectacular backdrop for the unique gathering.
