March 22, 2014 - East Beach Curiosity

MesaJim spotted this dilapidated sign and was curious what it might signify. Located along the East Beach walkway and facing the water, it seemed to be a nautical indicator of sorts. After further research a reader found that, according to the Harbormaster Office, the two signs closest to the wharf, when lined up, indicate the legal western boundary for anchorage. Another one, located by the volleyball court, is a mile marker.

Friday was National "Won't You Be My Neighbor" Day, which honors Fred Rogers, the host of the 70's-80's TV show Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. Edhatters shared photos of the neighborhood they live in.
