It's not a traditional Cuban but Our Daily Bread's Cubano sandwich is pretty darned good.

There is a place across from Mc KenIe park, Yanni Greek and American Market. I don't know if he makes it all the time, but it's delicious. All his food is.

There are NO places in the SB area that serve actual authentic Cuban sandwiches. Sure there are the places mentioned above that have sandwiches inspired by the Cuban sandwich but all are far far from legit. The main problem is the bread is not available here as we don't have a Cuban population. without the bread it is just never even close to the same.

@503462 A Torta Cubano from a taqueria is a totally different delicious beast. The ingredients and preparation are completely different. It is closer to chivito in heritage.

Cafe Luna the old French Bulldog in Summerland has a good one. BUT I totally agree with #465

465 is sooo right! The sandwiches noted are all pretty good but not a single one is the masterpiece of a true Cubano! Not even close! Gotta say it - how many roast pork, ham, cheese & schmear grilled sandwiches can anyone eat??? Oh so good though.....

Hmmmm, let me see. Given the state of the Cuban economy a genuine Cuban sandwich would lilely be two slices of stale bread with a little bit of margerine inside.

I had a pretty darn good one at 3 pickles once but at the time it wasn't a permanent menu item, it was a special they'd have once in awhile. You might want to check first.

Last time I had a good cuban sandwich I was leaving Tampa over the bridge hwy to the airport. The shack on the bridge serves the BEST, has a long line and you must buy at least 4 because you'll want them on the plane home. Sooooooo good you'll never forget them and will crave more! I think guy fieri even checked this place out on one of his shows. It's been there some 40+ years. Not Santa Barbara, but never able to find authentic cuban sandwich here.
