March 16, 2014 - Luck Of The Irish

On Monday we celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but for some the fun has already started. Downtown bars and restaurants are decked out with green clover signs, bright plastic top hats, and dishing out plates of corned beef, cabbage, and bangers and mash. According to StatisticBrain.com, approximately 46% of adults plan on celebrating St. Patrick's Day while only 9.6% of people plan on decorating their home or office. How many edhatters plan on celebrating the holiday?

Our Cat of the Week is Michael, a cuddly lap cat. Our Dog of the Week is Zane, a 12-year-old Doberman who loves his teddybear. Our Non-Profit of the Week is Santa Barbara Channelkeeper who work to protect and restore the Santa Barbara Channel and its watersheds. Betsy shares the latest headlines from March 1914 including a scary-looking clown, David is transfixed by the orange moon, a subscriber is curious about an old photo of State Street, and edhatters weigh in on how they know lived in Santa Barbara a long time.
