Arroyo Burro Creek Car
updated: Mar 08, 2014, 4:48 PM

By Edhat Subscriber

Does anyone remember the car with a big V-8 that was partially buried in the sand several hundred yards east of Arroyo Burro Creek? It must have been at least 30 years ago. It was interesting to watch is slowly corrode completely away. As I remember it, the story was that originally kids pushed an intact car off the cliff above as a prank.

I remember the beached boat there in the 60's! East (I think) of the creek/under the Wilcox bluffs. My family has a few b&w pics of it. This "shipwreck" was a blast for kids. I never climbed on it; we just enjoyed looking and making up stories.

Anyone else remember this or have pics?

Cars built in those days are far more biodegradable than ones made today.
