Rescued Fox
updated: Mar 05, 2014, 12:02 PM

By Julia J. Di Sieno

This 3lb. California Grey Fox was brought to our DFW permitted Wildlife rehabilitation facility fighting for her life. She is yet another victim of uneducated local gardeners trapping wildlife failing to check traps every 24 hours. It is illegal to trap California Grey Foxes, as well as local native wildlife unless permitted by California DFW. Traps also need to be numbered by DFW and monitored every day. Our team Vets estimate this fox remained in the trap with no food, water, exposed to the warm weather, then finally discovered during the heavy rains soaked. She has gained 1lb. while in our care the past week, and continues to thrive. We also welcome ANY donations to help our org. continue the fight for our native wildlife. Thank you.

Please Edhat readers. If you or someone you know finds distressed wildlife. Please call SBWN 805 681-1080 in Goleta, or Animal Rescue Team, Inc. 805 896- 1859 located in Solvang. We are the ONLY permitted facilities allowed to posses, rescue, rehab, and release native wildlife.
