SBA Flight Status

How are flights doing out of SB Air today? I have a flight this afternoon and am wondering if I should worry about it being delayed/cancelled due to the rain.

I'd call the airline and inquire.

It will do you no good to worry about something of which you have no control over. That being said, there should be no reason why this rain would delay or cancel your flight unless all of the electricity at the airport goes down. Like the song says, "Don't Worry - Be Happy." And remember, above the clouds it is sunny!

Posting on Edhat is way more fun than calling the airline. I would do the same thing if I was flying out today.

I look at FlightAware to track flights and see how the various hubs are doing (flightawaredotcom/live/)

No deal breakers in the SBA aviation forecast, but possibly problems at the airport(s) your flight comes in from. We had two inbound flights of visitors affected by weather elsewhere within the past month. SFO is somewhat notorious in that regard. I noticed an item about average SFO delays on Flightaware, and among the other options was something to check the inbound flight for on-time status.

XA = Mexico.

A little rain isn't going to stop flights. Planes take off and land in snow all the time. A bit of water doesn't bring the airline industry to a halt.

Not a weather related decision, but I heard that American Eagle is indefinitely pulling out their flights from SBA to LAX.

You can still go SBA to Phoenix on American/US Airways.

If the airport floods, ops come to screeching halt.
