I just drove over San Marcos Pass on Hwy 154 to town about 20 minutes ago. There was an area of violent rain and severe wind gusts associated with a thunderstorm between Old San Marcos intersection and West Camino Cielo - visibility was reduced to zero and I had to pull over. There are some dangerous conditions out there - be careful on the road and slow down!!!!

We had a transformer blow down my way and power was out for awhile..I'm grateful to Edison I won't be eating spoiled food all month, my neighbors are grateful to edison because I was starting to sing opera..

The automatic sensor at San Marcos Pass recorded a rainfall rate of 0.10 inch in 40 seconds at around 11-35 am - that's equivalent to about 9 inches an hour (!).

We had a near complete power black out here in IV late last night for a couple of hours or more, I'm sure most slept thru it. It was kind of weird as there was some voltage coming in, incandescent lights and LEDs glowed a little and neither of my emergency power lights triggered. Nothing else powered on here and I unplugged my sensitive electronics. I could see street lights on 2 blocks away, so it was not the complete area but every clock I have has to be reset. That was sort of a new experience as far as a power loss goes.

People, this is what happens in a storm!!! Maybe it's a good time to visit your local library, and check out a couple of books?

My baby chicks are freezing, I have to heat up bricks in the oven to keep them warm. My seedling warming mats have no power. I can't go to the store. The whole Mesa is shut down. We won't be getting power until tonight or maybe tomorrow. No gas, no McDonalds fries, no spicy shrimp inari from Lazy's. I have no heat, no power, I'm scared to open my fridge because we could be without power forever. My generator is in my garage, which is not accessible due to the fact the only way in is thru the electric door. Help!
