There is a lot of police activity with 4+ cop cars and a searchlight on Miramonte near the Highland condos. What's up?

Thanks for posting! I emailed Edhat about booms; thought it came from (south, no I guess that would be west of) Westside, whatever that means. I'm bad at directions, but you're on it; that's where I meant.

Did not sound like gunshots or even xformer explosions, though that was closer to the sound, but there seemed to be a lot of them. More like booming fireworks. I mean BOOM, not bang.

I thought I saw the the sky glowing brighter than usual, but wasn't sure, and there was nothing that looked like fireworks. My impressions, sent to Edhat:
"Booms at 9 p.m. Mon., possibly West side or S. of there? Could be my tinnitus acting up, though I did go out to look around. More like fireworks than transformers, but who knows."
I was kidding about my tinnitus or ear-ringing, I sometimes hear wind and some crickets, or heart/blood beat in one ear, but not booms!
Good luck doggies, if I wasn't imagining it.

A deputy lost his donut and he called in the troops to help find it.

Seriously, a friend of mine who lives in the area said a transformer blew around that time. Not sure if it is the same as you describe.

Lots of transformers blowing lately. There was a big one that went over on Clearview on the Westside recently as well.

We live in the Highlands on Miramonte and we didn't hear or see a thing. We saw a helicopter heading towards what looked like Cottage Hospital, but that's about it.

maybe the Navy is up to something? I heard BOOMS sounded like large explosions while I was walking along the beach yesterday afternoon...pretty far away... sounded like far away bombing or artillery... ?

@535: I don't think it was a deputy who lost his/her donut, since the area in question is within the SB city limits. The donut owner must have been SBPD.

Several people in my family have noticed that their electricity bills have varied greatly month to month. So one of them said he checked his electricity monitor box and it read "ERROR."

So maybe transformers are blowing because these monitors are faulty/breaking ???

We heard a boom yesterday afternoon, too. It drove our dogs nuts.

Whats an electricity monitor box?

#1 cause of electricity monitoring box displaying "ERROR" indication is observer's tinfoil hat getting stuck on box's output wire...
