Catching Free Water

The demand for rain barrels is very high right now at local hardware stores. When the next storm arrives, you can capture rain water from a rain gutter down spout, and store about 60 gallons of water to use on your outside landscaping. (Don't drink it.) There's also an option to buy a kit and convert a trash can into a rain barrel. Some residents have several barrels connected into a large water storage system.
