Shoe/Slide Duplicate
updated: Feb 19, 2014, 9:29 AM

Can anyone recommend a local shoe place that could duplicate a pair of slides?

Thanks for any tips.

If you find somebody, it'll be with a hefty price tag. Custom made, you'll get an expert in that field (shoemaker in your case) and these fine professionals are making a living helping folks like you. Don't try to bargain - respect the expert. Good luck!

I don't know if they "make" shoes, but Jessie's on Calle Real by Fairview ( in shopping center by Zodos), Goleta can probably point you in the right direction.

I didn't know what slides were so I looked on the internet. They look like cheap sandals where one size fits all. However they were charging around $160 per pair. It appears that I am ignorant of fashion.

You might be able to purchase something similar to your desire and have Jessie modify them.

I wear slides daily - I know how it is - you find a pair that works - you just want to hang on to them as long as you can. There is no one locally that is a custom manufacturer. Jesse's is a solid resource for repair (and he can make them last longer). A simple search on Amazon helped me find a pair nearly identical to the ones I had. You have to surf a bit but you'll find what you're looking for. Good Luck.

E-bay can be amazing in these situations.

Footsmart is a good source for wearable shoes (web). Solvang Shoe Store is another good source for wearable shoes. Both stores also carry a lot of slides, and understand quaint concepts like widths. Before you go to the expense of having a pair of shoes duplicated, see if you can find similar at one of these two sources. (That's what I've done.)

p.s. And, if anyone in town is a good shoe guy -- repairs, recommendations, etc. -- it's Jesse on Calle Real near Fairview.

OP Thanks for the input. Jessie's repairs, but can't help in this situation. He does a great job in his field.

It was a pair by Easy Spirit. Flat, with flexible straps, material over the top, and FLEXIBLE.

I walked across wet grass laden with chemicals which ruined the soles.

They looked nice and were comfortable. (7 hours of walking at Sea World, for example).
