updated: Feb 18, 2014, 8:06 AM

Does anyone know if the overpass on Los Carneros is open?

The southbound U.S. Highway 101 on/off ramps at Los Carneros Road will be closed for one year beginning Tuesday night at 9 pm (02/19/14)

I think the overpass itself is open, but the 101 southbound offramp is due for closure.

Everything was open for this morning's commute. They are now a day late in starting.

The overpass isn't closing. It's one lane in each direction, however both the Southbound On and Off Ramps are closing.

I took the Los Carneros southbound off-ramp this morning, to get to Fairview; have no idea how i'm going make it in tomorrow.

Yea, they're both open. It's called Storke and Fairview on and offramps.

@725 - your snide remark isn't even correct.

Have you actually *used* Fairview to get to the north side of 101 during any rush hour? I'm waiting... no, actually, you will be.

First I heard that they were at least keeping one lane on the bridge open, at least.

Is there any reason this really needs to take a year?

There was a posting error in the closure notices - 2/17 was a legal holiday - the closure takes effect today and around 9pm they will shut it down. The nature of the work to be done is very specific and some of the operations take months to complete. Unless you live or work in that area, you are better off finding alternate routes - Los Carneros itself will be restricted and more of a pain than usual to traverse. Freeway/highway ramps are closed for years across this state and the rest of the country - relax - go around it - let them do their thing. Next.

The Los Carneros overcrossing will be open during this project. It will be down to one lane in each directions because the construction will be staged as they take down and rebuilt one side at a time. Project information can be found here: www.LosCarnerosBridgeProject.com. A Caltrans project is happening at the same time near Fairview. This will replace the Las Vegas/San Pedro Creek Culverts. This is why the large drums are on the side of the freeway. No consecutive on or off ramps will be closed. (So this means that while the southbound on and off ramps at Los Carneros are closed, the Fairview southbound on and off ramps will be open.)

Caltrans told us yesterday that the northbound Fairview on ramp is expected to close in May.
