Scanner Reports 2-17-14
updated: Feb 17, 2014, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Monday-Monday, That's one of my favorite songs if a song can make someone feel good about it being a Monday that's the song. Rainy Days and Mondays always kind of made me feel depressed but right now a Rainy Day on a Monday in Santa Barbara would make me feel good, real good. Rainy Days always made me feel good; especially good hard rains that clean everything real good and makes the air feel fresh and clean. I'd do a rain dance but I'm so big it would probably be an earthquake dance.

I felt like doing an Earthquake Dance the other day when I called the clinic I go to for a renewal on my medication. I was told to call the clinic a day or two before the meds run out so when the pharmacy faxes the doctor he could approve it and there it would be. I called on Valentine's Day and I think someone didn't get any flowers, or candy because the woman that answered was mean as dog turds on a Sunday afternoon. I tried to explain to her this this is the way that I was told to request the medication, but I could not get a word in edgewise she just kept snapping away. I finally just said "You're wrong you just don't want to do it." and I hung up on her and I hope she didn't get nothing for Valentine's Day; she don't deserve it. I bet she treats all the patients that call in that way. People like that should not be allowed to work with the public. After that I e-mailed the clinic's website several times and gave them a few pieces of my mind and then some. When I hit send on their website as usual this sentence popped up stating "We're sorry but there has been an error and we are unable to process your message at this time, please try again later." That thing popped up the last time I sent them a message giving them a piece of my mind, but someone there told me the messages go through anyway so I clicked it about 60 times. I was really angry that was really a lowdown dirty way for that woman to treat a patient. She was a real abusive jerk and maybe she should take the medication herself because SHE NEEDS IT! As for me I think instead of taking that medication to calm my nerves I'll just become a human WOODCHIPPER that will get rid of all my problems. Maybe the Storm Gods will think I'm doing a rain dance and bless us with a huge storm, one that will wash that lazy receptionist right out of that clinic into Mission Creek and about 40 miles out to Sea! I never did get my medication. I asked the pharmacy to fax it to the doctor but it hasn't been approved yet. Sometimes I think they hold back people's meds to watch them "Snap, crackle, Pop!" But I'm not that easy I'm really good at holding things in for Days, Weeks, and Months, and having them come out in other ways. As far as I know it's not against the law to cut the cheese in a doctor's office but I bet it will be after I get done doing it.

Oh Well, Some People. I was surprised we didn't have any Saint Valentine Day Massacres, over the Holiday, I heard a few domestics but nothing like it seemed to be playing up to a few days before. It actually has been kinda mellow. Hopefully not the calm before a storm. I haven't heard anything about the 245 with a knife at Oak Park last week maybe it was just a scratch, not a lethal assault. I know there's not a lot of big city crime here in Santa Barbara and I think that disappoints some people. They would like to see more gang members and homeless people kill each other. And people that would like to see that SUCK in my book. I'm sure there are suspicious deaths here like everywhere else that manage to elude the media like the commenter pointed out a while back. All these assault victims with head injuries who go into the hospital and are never seen again. They end up with permanent brain damage, or die a few months later. Had that happen to a friend November of '86; beaten so bad he had a brain hemorrhage. Went to Cottage then Oak Park nursing home where he died a few months later. It was more of a manslaughter than a murder but it never made the Snooze Press, or KEYT. I think there are a few each year I can't say for sure but I have no doubt it happens. There are a lot of thefts here and assaults, a few robberies here and there some burglaries, occasional arsons it's a lot more than it used to be and the small time stuff leads to bigger stuff. Some of the Code Reds I post because if I don't there's going to be a question thread. "Why were there 10 police cars at the corner of State and Valerio at 3:10 am this morning?" I don't always hear everything, but when I hear a robbery or assault where the police go code 3, I usually post it. Funny sometimes someone with do a question thread anyway no one checks to see if there's a Code Red on it.

Then the TROLLS scum out "What? That is not a crime, blah, blah, blah!" Will I'm truly sorry if some of you are disappointed that there's not enough crime in Santa Barbara. No I'm SNOT! I would like to see crime go down myself but with progress comes crime and I don't think that's going to happen.

Saw an old friend of mine on Sunday. My good friend Tom. Haven't seen him in 24 years. It was good to see him then afterwards started feeling all sad he left. He says "Next time I come down for a visit we will go to dinner or something." Come to think of it I think he said that the last time I saw him 24 years ago.
