February 16, 2014 - The Long Weekend

Happy President's Day weekend everyone! Most of us have Monday off and will be celebrating the long weekend with a post- Valentine's Day sugar hangover. President's Day, also known as Washington's birthday, is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of February. The day honors presidents of the United States, including George Washington, the USA's first president. How do we celebrate this day? Besides sleeping in or taking a three day vacation out of town, we aren't really sure. According to our television commercials this weekend is the best time to purchase cars, furniture, television sets and other miscellaneous items that we probably don't need... just as our forefathers intended. Have a great weekend everyone!

Our Cat(s) of the Week are Pele and Coral, two adopted sisters who enjoy the great outdoors. Our Dog of the Week is Basil, a handsome rescue with the talent of creating Chewbacca noises. Our Non-Profit of the Week is the Santa Barbara School of Squash who provide consistent and reliable academic and athletic support and guidance to the children and families attending schools in Santa Barbara. Chuck teaches us about the festively pink Great Nebula in Orion, Betsy takes us back 100 years with a news story about tidal waves, Rosie rocked out with the Mad Caddies, and a local surfer stars in a unique video.
