Mesa Lane Traffic History
updated: Feb 15, 2014, 2:30 PM

By Edhat Subscriber

There was an accident on Cliff Dr and Mesa Lane, it was called Flora Vista in the late 1960's. The accident took the life of a little boy named Chipper Nelson. He was on his way home from school and lived on Murrell Rd just like we did. We as parents had gone to meetings after meetings asking for a stop light at that corner and no one listened until after Chipper was killed.

I just wondered if there is any information in the archives of Santa Barbara about that stop light on Cliff Dr and Flora Vista/Mesa Lane? Even now, when I drive by that lite, I say' "that light is because Chipper gave his little life for it so others could go on to the upper grades."
