There's a place on Fairview, about 1/2 block down from Hollister ave.on the left. Can't remember the name, but good people. They also sell used machines.

672 is talking about Appliance Warehouse of America. They have a website. They deliver, for a fee. A washer/dryer rental will cost you $33/mo plus tax.

If its for home use you might consider craigslist appliances and just buy - probably pick up a set for 150.

88P has good advice. People are always replacing somewhat grimy but solid washers and dryers for the latest energy saver models, and used ones don't cost much. You could probably run them for five years and sell them for the same price you bought them at. The older machines are built like trucks. The new ones, not so much.

STAY AWAY from A1 on Reddick!!! We had a terrible experience involving an appliance repair a while back and I was amazed at how noncaring and borderline shady these people are.

We actually did that: bought used at the shop by Fairview & Hollister, sold a few months later on Craigs List for a few dollars more.

It looks like people are talking about this place:
Appliance Warehouse of America
274 S Fairview Ave, Goleta, CA ?
(805) 967-9607

We had a very positive experience there some years ago. We bought a used washer and dryer for a townhouse we rented. They worked perfectly. 2.5 years later we sold them privately for the same amount we purchased them for. That might be an alternative to renting.
