LONG TERM CLOSURE OF SOUTHBOUND U.S. HIGHWAY 101 ON/OFF RAMPS AT LOS CARNEROS ROAD BEGINS NEXT WEEK

The southbound U.S. Highway 101 on/off ramps at Los Carneros Road will be closed for one year beginning Monday, Feb. 17. Motorists can use Storke Road or Fairview Avenue to access businesses, the Santa Barbara Airport and UCSB.

These ramp closures are part of the City of Goleta's Los Carneros Overhead Bridge Replacement project. This project will include Class II bike lanes in each direction and a sidewalk on the west side of the bridge. For more information on this project visit the project website at: http://www.loscarnerosbridgeproject.com/

The Caltrans Goleta Drainage Improvement Project to improve the capacity of two large culverts along Las Vegas Creek and San Pedro Creek at U.S. Highway 101 near Fairview Avenue in Goleta began this week. This project will prevent flooding north of Calle Real and U.S. Highway 101 and will include reconstructing the U.S. Highway 101 southbound off-ramp at Fairview Avenue. It is expected to be completed in 2017.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
