Sheriff Bill Brown Re-election Campaign
updated: Feb 10, 2014, 2:51 PM

By John Palminteri

Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown has formally announced his re-election campaign.

Flanked by city and county leaders, along with many supporters, Brown made his speech on the steps of the County Courthouse.

Prior to his comments, Brown was praised by Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley, First District Supervisor Salud Carbajal, along with Santa Barbara Mayor Helene Schneider, Carpinteria Mayor Brad Stein, Goleta Mayor Roger Acevas, and Solvang Mayor Jim Richardson.

Brown was first elected in November 2006, and after serving a four year term, won re-election in June, 2010. In that election, he ran unopposed.

One other person will formally be in the upcoming race: Sheriff's Sergeant Sandra Brown (no relation).
