How Much Rain?
updated: Feb 07, 2014, 2:58 PM

By Edhat Subscriber

After several hours of rain - with plants happy to receive it - I am wondering how much rainfall was measured yesterday? I've looked at some sources but have not found any records for yesterday. Thanks in advance...

At the link posted by @024 (http://santabarbara.onerain.com/rain.php), click in the box at the top that says "End Time," and you can change the date to get yesterday's totals. In my Goleta-Glen Annie neighborhood we had almost 1/3"!

The wunderground site is good for watching in real time. They have graphs of the rain fall rate at many local locations.

Look at yesterday's readings on TWC: Goleta, Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez all had 0.29 inches. What a coincidence... identical to within 1/100 of an inch! ;)

Doing ma rain dance right now. Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo, whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo. It's simple and fun. You can do it in your jim-jams and slippies. Join in. Just shuffle around in a small circle, bounce your head a little bit and think rain, rain, rain. Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo.

.30 inches was in my rainmeter near the Sheffield reservoir.

I was grateful for mine close to a quarter. Both the Channel 3 news and the Newspress listed .22.
