Canyon Wonders
updated: Feb 05, 2014, 8:06 AM

By John Wiley

For many years I've yearned to check out Palm Canyon just outside Palm Springs. Yesterday we finally got a first taste of the wonders there, taking a short walk with dear friends on the Andreas Trail in the ancient enchanted Indian Canyons. Even in arid desert during this extreme drought, the creek was running cold and fast bringing a cool breeze and a giggling music to the canyon. Looking up next to the trail, the carved rock formations towered perhaps a hundred feet above. Even with only half an hour to spare before returning to the airport for our flight home before dark, our lives were transformed by this moment beyond time.
